Wayne State University (WSU) women's fencing athletes, Reka Galfalvy and Ludovica Mancini, have completed their participation in the 2025 NCAA Women's Fencing Championships. The event took place at Penn State University's Multi-Sport Facility.
Galfalvy, a sophomore from Budapest, competed in the epee category. She secured seven victories, finishing with a 7-16 record. Her performance included six wins on the first day and one win against Karen Wang of Northwestern on the second day. Four of her losses were closely contested at 5-4.
Mancini, a junior from Rome, participated in the foil category. She ended the final day with a 3-12 record but achieved a notable victory over Brown's Jessie Chen with a score of 5-4 on the second day. Mancini concluded with an overall record of 4-19 after losing four bouts by narrow margins of 5-4.
This year's championship marks the first time since 2017 that multiple WSU women's fencing team members have competed in this prestigious event. Overall, Wayne State University finished 17th out of 33 programs, accumulating a total of 30 bout victories over four days.
