Wayne State University's women's outdoor track and field team divided their efforts between two events on Thursday. Members of the team took part in the Washington University Distance Carnival in St. Louis and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
At the Washington University Distance Carnival, three distance runners from Wayne State competed, but results remain pending. The team promises an update on the outcomes as soon as they are available.
Meanwhile, four Wayne State athletes participated in the Texas State Bobcat Invitational. In the 100-meter hurdles, Megan Zahnow, a freshman from Vicksburg, Michigan, secured 10th place in Section B with a time of 15.52. In the 100-meter dash, sophomore Rachel Overgaard from Ypsilanti, Michigan, placed 17th with a time of 12.46, while junior Avery Wilson from Davison, Michigan, finished 21st and junior Elyse Miller from Woodhaven, Michigan, secured the 23rd position. Miller also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing 46th in Section B.
Further competitions are scheduled for Friday, with events taking place in both Missouri and Texas as the team continues their track and field pursuits.
