Wayne State University's men's golf team ended its 2024-25 regular season with success at the Motor City Meltdown in Dearborn, Michigan. The team secured victory with a two-round score of 583, which was 11 strokes ahead of Ferris State in second place. Josh DiCarlo achieved Medalist Honors for the third time in his career and the second time this season with a score of 143.

Head coach Mike Horn noted the challenging weather conditions: "What a battle in the 35 mile an hour wind gusts!" Despite this, Horn praised his team’s performance: "Ferris State played really well and had us down until about six holes to go. We took over and really played well in awful conditions coming in."

DiCarlo's accomplishment puts him in the company of other notable players in the program: "Congratulations to Tyler (Hurtubise) and Luc (Warnock) in making the All-Tournament Team and congratulations to Josh DiCarlo on his third medalist win. That puts him in the elite company."

The team's roster showed strong performance, with Tyler Hurtubise scoring 145 and Luc Warnock 147, making them part of the All-Tournament Team. Coach Horn also highlighted Andrew Daily's notable second-round performance with a score of 71: "Outstanding play from Andrew Daily shooting a 71 in the second round. I believe that is the only score under par in the second round."

Looking forward, Wayne State prepares for the GLIAC Championships at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan. The tournament involves stroke play on the first two days, with the final two teams competing in a medal match play championship on Sunday.
