The Wayne State University cross country teams have released their schedule for the 2025 season. Head coach Grant Lofdahl, entering his ninth year with the program, said the schedule will keep the teams closer to home than in previous years due to both the NCAA Championships and Midwest Regional meet taking place at Wisconsin Parkside.
"This season's schedule will keep us a bit closer to home than usual, with NCAA Championships taking place at Wisconsin Parkside, as well as the Midwest Regional meet," Lofdahl stated.
He highlighted a key invitational in Kenosha, noting its importance ahead of nationals. "With that in mind, our key invitational trip will be to Kenosha as well, for the Lucian Rosa Invitational. That meet will be a de facto pre-nationals this year and should have a very high level of competition. Opening up at Hillsdale will be a good rust buster and will get us on a challenging, hilly course which is what we'll see later on at Parkside."
Lofdahl also commented on hosting duties and other notable meets. "The Warrior Challenge has grown into a solid meet and the seventh edition this year should be no exception. We look forward to racing at a high level in front of the home crowd, and expect to have a lot of Warrior fans at the GLIAC meet hosted by Davenport as well. The Muskegon Jayhawk and SVSU Red October meets will give our runners opportunities to run fast and to prepare for championship season."
The Warriors begin their campaign on September 5 at Hillsdale College before returning home for their own Warrior Challenge on September 12 at Willow Metropark in New Baltimore. The team then travels to Kenosha for the Lucian Rosa Invitational on September 27.
Following that event, Wayne State competes in the Jayhawk Invite hosted by Muskegon Community College on October 11 and finishes its regular season with the SVSU Red October Meet in University Center on October 17.
Postseason action starts with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) meet in Grand Rapids on October 25. The NCAA Midwest Regional is scheduled for November 8 in Kenosha at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course—the same location as this year's NCAA Championship race set for November 22.
On the women's team, redshirt senior Robin Bresolin returns along with graduate student Taylor Hopkins and senior Aubrey Migoski—all competitors from last year's Midwest Regional. Two-time letterwinners Rachel Felstow and Sarah Greb are also back.
For the men's squad, Anthony Vinson is noted as a three-time letterwinner leading six teammates who each hold two varsity letters: Eli DiCerbo, Adam Hafeli, Brady Heron, Aidan Lobsinger, Ty Nagy, and Jared Platt.
