The 2025 season will introduce the Warrior Sports Network, which will broadcast Wayne State University football and basketball games. This marks a new phase for the university’s sports coverage.

Sean Baligian, a Detroit sports broadcaster with experience dating back to 1998, will return for his 17th season as the play-by-play announcer for Warrior football. Baligian has worked on Fox 2 from 2002 to 2018 and contributed to The Detroit News and MLive.com. He was named Best Radio Sports Talk Host by Metro Times in October 2007 and has hosted SportsWrap on WJR. His experience also includes work with USA Hockey, MHSAA hockey and football, and serving as play-by-play announcer for a Carolina Hurricanes TV broadcast. He will call all five home games as well as road contests at Findlay, Saginaw Valley, Roosevelt, and Northern Michigan.

Brady Beedon, a former defensive end for Wayne State who graduated in December 2019 with a degree in broadcast journalism, will be the color analyst for four home games plus road games at Findlay, Saginaw Valley State, Roosevelt, and Northern Michigan. Beedon will also handle Locker Room Report and Senior Spotlight features for WDTK. For away games at Wisconsin-La Crosse and Ferris State, he will serve as play-by-play announcer. In addition to his broadcasting roles over the past four seasons (2021-2024), Beedon played in 36 career games for Wayne State and received membership into the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society in 2020.

Kevin Brechmacher is set to return for his tenth season calling WSU men’s basketball this winter. He will act as color analyst during football games at Wisconsin-La Crosse and Ferris State as well as the home contest against Quincy.

Tony Ortiz of WWJ will be sideline commentator during the five home broadcasts. Ortiz previously held similar roles with Comcast CN900 from 2016 through 2022 and served on FloSports broadcasts over the last two years.

All Wayne State GLIAC football games are scheduled to air on FloSports (flofootball.com). Home non-conference matchups against Tiffin and Quincy along with the road game at Findlay are included in this coverage. The PreP is set to produce FloSports broadcasts of home events for its third year running; it will also stream volleyball matches this fall, basketball (men’s and women’s) this winter, plus baseball and softball home games in spring 2026.
