Wayne State University has announced the addition of four divers to its swimming and diving programs for the 2025-26 season. The announcement was made by head coach Sean Peters, who is entering his 29th year, and diving coach Jason Trout, now in his fourth year with the program.
The incoming athletes are Ariana Heugh from Macomb Dakota High School, Isla Puzjak from Davison High School, and Hannah Siebern from William Henry Harrison High School on the women's team. Xavier Hawkins from Ypsilanti Lincoln High School will join the men's team.
"I am thrilled to welcome four incoming freshmen divers to the WSU diving program," said Trout. "The three incoming on the women's side and one on the men's side will help shape our program for years to come. I cannot wait to start working with each of them as I truly believe they will all make an immediate impact on the team. Each brings their own unique set of skills, energy, and leadership that will only help to grow the team dynamic that we have been working to build."
Ariana Heugh graduated in 2025 from Macomb Dakota High School, where she was a four-year letterwinner and set school records for both six and eleven dives. She finished tenth at the 2024 MHSAA Division 1 state meet and was named All-Macomb County Diver of the Year after winning the county championship. Heugh also served as a team captain during her senior year.
Isla Puzjak graduated in 2025 from Davison High School as a four-year letterwinner. She holds school records for eleven and six dives, placed second at the 2024 MHSAA Division 1 regional meet, and won the Saginaw Valley League Championship with a personal-best score. Puzjak also served as a team captain as a senior.
Hannah Siebern comes from William Henry Harrison High School in Indiana, where she was a letterwinner and finished eighth at the HSE Splash-n-Clash meet in Fishers, Indiana. Siebern served as team captain during her senior year.
Xavier Hawkins graduated in 2025 from Ypsilanti Lincoln High School after being a four-year varsity letterwinner. He finished twenty-first at this year's MHSAA Division 2 state meet and earned All-Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete recognition.
All four student-athletes plan to pursue degrees in various fields while competing for Wayne State's swimming and diving teams.
