Kyle Hill, a former Wayne State University baseball player, will be inducted into the Wayne State Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 3 at The Eastern. Banquet tickets are available online.

Hill played for the Warriors from 2004 to 2007, contributing to 105 overall wins and 68 conference victories during his collegiate career. He was named First Team All-GLIAC pitcher and ABCA/Rawling All-Region First Team in 2005, leading Wayne State to its first GLIAC regular-season title and NCAA tournament appearance.

He also earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors in both 2004 and 2007. Hill was recognized as Wayne State’s Top Pitcher in 2004 and 2005, sharing the award with Anthony Bass in his senior year.

At the time of his graduation, Hill’s record of 24 career wins matched the school record and stood for nearly two decades. He led or tied for most team wins in each of his first three seasons and ranked third in ERA among conference pitchers as a senior.

In terms of individual achievements, Hill’s statistics included tying for fifth-most starts (13) and third-most victories (9) in a single season at Wayne State. His eight complete games as a senior also tied him for fifth place on that list.

Hill still holds the program’s best career strikeout-to-walk ratio at 3.60 with a total of 173 strikeouts against 48 walks. His records include most career starts (45), which lasted for seventeen years, second-most complete games (20), and second-most innings pitched (271.1).

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Hill threw a no-hitter against Mercyhurst for his first collegiate win.

Academically, Hill was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team three times and completed both bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Wayne State by 2010. He appeared on the Academic Honor Roll every semester during college and made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll five times with a GPA above 3.5.
