Kyle Hill, a former standout pitcher for the Wayne State Warriors baseball team, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Hill played for the Warriors from 2004 to 2007 and contributed to 105 overall wins and 68 victories in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play during his collegiate career.

Hill's achievements include being named First Team All-GLIAC and earning ABCA/Rawling All-Region First Team honors in 2005. That year, he helped lead Wayne State to a GLIAC regular-season championship and the program’s first appearance in the NCAA tournament.

He was also selected twice as an All-GLIAC Second Team pitcher, in 2004 and 2007. Hill was recognized as Wayne State’s Top Pitcher in both 2004 and 2005 and shared the award with Anthony Bass in 2007.

At the time of his graduation, Hill’s 24 career wins matched the school record, a mark that stood for 17 years. He led or tied for the team lead in wins during each of his first three seasons and posted a 2.52 earned run average (ERA) in his senior year, ranking third in the GLIAC.

Hill made 13 starts in 2005, tying him for fifth most in a single season at Wayne State, while his nine wins that year tied him for third. His eight complete games as a senior were also tied for fifth most in program history.

Upon graduation, Hill held the top two single-season strikeout-to-walk ratios in program history and still holds the career record with a ratio of 3.60, totaling 173 strikeouts to 48 walks. His record of 45 career starts stood for 17 years, and his 20 complete games remain tied for second most at Wayne State. He ranked second all-time in innings pitched with 271.1.

Hill is originally from Mississauga, Ontario, and recorded a complete-game no-hitter against Mercyhurst for his first collegiate win.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Hill was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team three times. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English in 2008 and completed a master’s degree in Teaching Secondary Education in 2010. He was on the Academic Honor Roll throughout all eight semesters at Wayne State and appeared on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll five times with a term GPA above 3.5.
