Wayne State women’s cross country places tenth at NCAA Midwest Regional

The Wayne State University women's cross country team finished 10th out of 27 teams at the NCAA Midwest Regional held on November 8 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The event took place at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.

Wayne State competed against programs from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), and Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). Grand Valley State secured first place with 25 points, followed by Cedarville and Lewis with 87 and 90 points, respectively. Wayne State earned a total of 285 points for its performance.

For individual results, Ava Peters placed highest among Wayne State runners, finishing 28th overall with a time of 21:55.30. Robin Bresolin was next for the team in 42nd place at 22:14.80. Other finishers included Aubrey Migoski (69th, 22:52.80), Emilee Rudlaff (70th, 22:52.90), Anna Gdowski (76th, 22:57.90), Taylor Hopkins (107th, 23:26.30), and Ella Showerman (112th, 23:30.40).

The team's next step will be to await the NCAA Championships selection announcement to determine if it receives an at-large bid or if any individual athlete qualifies for one of the available slots.
