Two athletes from Wayne State University’s women’s outdoor track and field team have been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with All-Region honors. This recognition is given to the top five individuals in each event from each region, as well as members of a top-three ranked relay team.

Senior Reagan Justice, from Canton, Michigan, was honored for her performance in the 10,000-meter event. She set a new school record on March 27 at the Washington University Distance Carnival with a time of 34:52.00, surpassing the previous record of 35:12.90 set by Jen Rock in 2014. Justice had previously held the second-best time at Wayne State with a 35:20.23 achieved at the 2024 GLIAC Outdoor Championships.

Redshirt sophomore Keneisha Thomas, hailing from Madison Heights, Michigan, received accolades for her achievements in the 400-meter hurdles. Thomas broke the school record with a time of 1:02.59 in March at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational and further improved to 59.88 at the Michigan Len Paddock Open on May 9th. Her previous best was a record-setting 1:02.83 at the 2024 GLIAC Outdoor Championship meet, surpassing Makenzie Wellner’s prior record of 1:03.32 set in 2022.

Both athletes are set to compete next week at the NCAA Division II national championship meet in Pueblo, Colorado.
