The Wayne State University women’s basketball team is set to conclude its four-game road trip with matches against Grand Valley State and Davenport. The team will face Grand Valley State on Thursday at 6 PM, followed by a game against Davenport on Saturday at 1 PM. The Warriors will then return home for their final two regular-season games.

In their history of competition, Grand Valley State leads the series against Wayne State with a record of 63-26. The last time Wayne State won at Grand Valley was in 2014 with a close 78-76 victory. In their previous encounter this season, Grand Valley defeated Wayne State 80-59, marking their 21st consecutive win over the Warriors.

Against Davenport, Wayne State holds an overall record of 11-4 and has split victories evenly in Grand Rapids with a 4-4 record. Wayne State has emerged victorious in the last four meetings between the teams.

Grand Valley State currently leads the GLIAC standings with a record of 25-2 overall and a conference mark of 15-1. Rylie Bisballe is leading the Lakers in scoring, rebounding, and assists. Meanwhile, Davenport stands at a record of 6-18 overall and has shown recent improvement by winning two out of its last three games.

Wayne State’s schedule ranks as the second toughest in the Midwest Region for Division II basketball this season. Taylor Thompson from Wayne State is notable for her offensive rebounds per game, while Shea Tripp ranks highly among active players in career steals.

Shea Tripp recently delivered impressive performances both offensively and defensively during games against Saginaw Valley State and Roosevelt. Her contributions helped secure a win against Saginaw but were not enough to prevent a loss to Roosevelt.

Fans can follow all women’s basketball home games and GLIAC contests via FloSports streaming service as part of an agreement with WSU Athletics.
