The Wayne State University men’s swimming and diving team advanced to second place after the second day of the 2025 GLIAC Championships in Holland, Michigan. The team scored 166 points on both days, positioning them behind Grand Valley State with a total of 332 points.

Current standings show Grand Valley State leading with 391.5 points, followed by Wayne State. Northern Michigan is in third place with 320.5 points, while St. Cloud State holds fourth with 248 points. Saginaw Valley State follows in fifth place with 185 points, Davenport is sixth with 135 points, Augustana is seventh with 99 points, and Lake Superior State rounds out the standings with 16 points.

In individual events, Clayton Kinnard secured first place in the 400 IM with a time of 3:52.44, achieving an NCAA B Cut. Trevor Jones finished fourth in the same event at 3:54.14, also an NCAA B Cut performance. William Debroux and Gabriel Arias completed the event eighth and ninth respectively, both meeting NCAA B Cut standards as well.

Lorenzo Tassinari placed seventh in the 100 fly with a time of 48.62 after posting a faster time during preliminaries.

In the diving events, Julio Osuna claimed first place in the three-meter diving competition scoring 527.75. Max Wasiniak and John Martin took third and sixth places respectively.

The Wayne State relay team composed of Olin Charnstrom, Clayton Kinnard, Lorenzo Tassinari, and Tomas Osiro achieved fourth place in the 400 medley relay clocking at 3:12.84 for an NCAA B Cut qualification.

Preliminary rounds for day three are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday morning.
