Wayne State University’s women’s swimming and diving team is currently in third place at the GLIAC Championships, which are taking place in Holland, Michigan. After the second day of competition, Wayne State has accumulated 319 points. The event spans four days, with preliminaries for day three scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The current team standings show Grand Valley State leading with 546 points, followed by Northern Michigan with 340 points. Davenport holds fourth place with 191 points, while Saginaw Valley State rounds out the top five with 124 points.

In individual events, Wayne State’s Barbara Munoz finished fourth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:21.71, achieving an NCAA B Cut. Elly Belmore placed sixth in the same event with a time of 4:26.40, also earning an NCAA B Cut. Emma Crispo secured eighth place after having an NCAA B Cut in the prelims.

In the 200 free event, Alli Vassilakos finished fifth and achieved an NCAA B Cut with her time of 1:52.81. Emily Hedley came in eighth place, Danika Fessenden was fourteenth, and Kate Rhodes finished fifteenth.

The Wayne State relay team composed of Elly Belmore, Delaney Parker, Barbara Munoz, and Sabine Branford completed the 400 medley relay in fourth place with a time of 3:47.71.
