Drenth also posted a win in his match against Andrei, scoring 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. Wasner and Knowles secured their victories by defeating Fraile Raton and Velasco Garcia respectively, both triumphing after trailing in their matches. Klaus achieved a win over Lezan Koyuncu with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) score. Hill, however, lost to Hamon.

Head Coach Bryan Morrow commented, “A nice 5-2 win over Lake Superior State. It was a super competitive match, we pulled out 4-of-5 three setters in singles with comebacks everywhere. This is a very good team that we faced and I am extremely pleased with the heart that we showed and very proud of the guys. Tough conditions, tough place to play, and we never gave up. We stayed positive and fought hard. This was one of the best wins of the year and I could not be happier.”

The Wayne State men’s tennis team is scheduled to play next on Saturday, April 5, competing against Michigan Tech University.
