Wayne State women’s swimming team advances nine to GLIAC Championship finals

The Wayne State University women’s swimming and diving team has successfully advanced nine swimmers to the final night of the 2025 GLIAC Championships in Holland, Michigan. The squad has four athletes qualifying for the championship finals and five for the consolation finals. Additionally, three swimmers will participate in the timed final of the 1650 free event.

In the 100 free category, Sabine Branford secured a sixth-place finish with a time of 51.90, achieving an NCAA B Cut. Kate Rhodes and Julia Katulski finished in 11th and 14th places, respectively.

For the 200 back event, Emily Hedley claimed seventh place with a time of 2:03.84, followed closely by Elly Belmore in eighth place at 2:04.47. Megan Unger and Evie Dice also qualified, finishing in 13th and 14th places.

In the 200 breaststroke competition, Emma Crispo took sixth place with a time of 2:20.67. Delaney Parker finished in 12th place, while Maddy Flynn, Madelyn Peura, and Rose Haney completed their races in positions ranging from 21st to 23rd.

Megan Delaere will compete this evening in the timed final of the 1650 free event after securing fifth place among non-top-eight swimmers with a time of 18:17.51.

Swimmers Diana Muccioli, Barbara Munoz, and Alli Vassilakos are set to swim this evening as well.
