In a Facebook post, Rep. Jason Wentworth (R-Farwell) called for donations to meal providers. According to Wentworth, Gladwin Community Schools has been handing out over 10,000 meals to families that have been impacted by the COVID-19 economic crisis.

With so many families being out of work, the need for assistance is growing by the day.

"ATTENTION GLADWIN AREA BUSINESSES: My office has been in communication with Gladwin Community Schools, who have been handing out over 10,000 meals per week to area students. They are in need of plastic or paper grocery bags to pack up meals for their food distribution program. These bags must be new and never used. If you are a local business and can assist in donating bags to Gladwin Community Schools, please contact Sharon Kennedy, who is the Director of Food Service, at (989) 426-3288 to coordinate a pickup. Thank you to individuals and businesses who have stepped up in this time of need to assist with these efforts!" Wentworth wrote on Facebook.
