City of Detroit issued the following announcement on July 27.
Michael and Robin Kinnie are a husband and wife duo with their own extensive knowledge of the audio industry: Mike as an audio designer and consultant for major venues, and Robin as an award-winning podcast expert. Between their expertise and desire to increase the number of women and people of color in the audio industry, they opened Audio Engineers of Detroit in Midtown Detroit.
Audio Engineers of Detroit has state-of-the-art equipment available to Detroit’s creative community. On top of recording, the studio will also offer educational audio courses for students interested in music production and audio recording engineering. Enrollment is now open for the inaugural classes starting August 25th this year!
“We offer technology and resources that we believe no other recording studio in Detroit has,” said Robin. “Audio Engineers of Detroit gives musicians, podcasters and aspiring sound engineers accessibility to the best technology in town in hopes for a stronger presence in the community.”
The Audio Engineers of Detroit studio is now available for classes, filmmakers, recording and voice over artists, podcasters, and other creatives to produce their projects. For more information on the studio, pricing and classes, visit aedetroit.com or call (313) 502-5295.
Audio Engineers of Detroit is one of 128 open Motor City Match businesses that have received support. The $20,000 cash grant they received from Motor City Match helped Robin and Mike find a prime location for their business in the City they love!
