The Wayne State University Track & Field and Cross Country programs are organizing a series of clinics this June. The sessions will run from June 24 to June 26, from 9 a.m. to noon each day at the Lowell Blanchard Track at Tom Adams Field in Detroit.

These clinics are open to students entering grades 8 through 12 in the fall of 2024. Participants can expect to learn skills, drills, and techniques that collegiate athletes receive at Wayne State University. The aim is to challenge attendees with new training methods while minimizing time spent on familiar techniques.

Each clinic day focuses on different events:

- Day 1 (June 24): Sprint Events, Shot Put, Distance

- Day 2 (June 25): 400m/800m, Long Jump/High Jump, Discus

- Day 3 (June 26): Hurdles, Hammer/Javelin

The schedule for each day includes an introduction and group sorting from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., followed by warm-ups and introductory work with drills until around noon.

These sessions are designed for young athletes across all track and field disciplines who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge in the sport. "Learn the skills, drills, and ideas that collegiate Track & Field athletes receive at WSU," reads part of the announcement.

Registration costs $65 per person per day. For more information about camp registration, Nate Miller can be contacted via email at nate.miller@wayne.edu.
