Wayne State fencing teams head to Schiller Duals

The Wayne State University men's and women's fencing teams are set to participate in the Schiller Duals this weekend. The event, hosted by Northwestern University, will be held at the Ryan Fieldhouse in Evanston, Illinois, on February 1st and 2nd.

Wayne State will compete against several other institutions including host Northwestern University, Temple University, Denison University, Cornell University, the University of California San Diego, Fairleigh Dickinson University, the University of Detroit Mercy, The Ohio State University, Wheaton College, Stanford University, the Air Force Academy, the University of Incarnate Word, Lawrence University, Cleveland State University and the University of Notre Dame.

Previously facing some of these schools at last week's DeCicco Duals at Notre Dame's campus provides a familiar ground for Wayne State as they prepare for another competitive weekend.

The schedule for Saturday includes matches for men against UC San Diego at 8:15 AM followed by Wheaton at 9:25 AM. They will face Notre Dame at 11:45 AM before taking a lunch break from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Post-lunch matches include Ohio State at 1:30 PM and Stanford at 2:40 PM. Meanwhile, the women’s team starts their day with UC San Diego at 9:25 AM and Ohio State at 11:45 AM before their lunch break. Their afternoon consists of bouts against Cornell at 1:30 PM followed by Temple at 2:40 PM and concluding with Stanford at 3:50 PM.

On Sunday morning both teams will go up against Air Force starting from around 9:10 AM with subsequent matches scheduled throughout the day.
