Wayne State women’s cross country places fourth at GLIAC championship

The Wayne State University women's cross country team finished fourth at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship, which took place in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The team scored 113 points during the meet.

Grand Valley State led the event with a perfect score of 15 points, followed by Northern Michigan with 80 and Saginaw Valley State with 103. Wayne State placed ahead of Michigan Tech, Parkside, Ferris State, Lake Superior State, Purdue Northwest, Roosevelt, and Davenport.

Ava Peters and Ella Showerman received Second Team All-GLIAC honors for their performances. Peters finished 15th overall and was 12th in team scoring with a time of 21:34.20. Showerman came in 25th overall and was 20th in team scoring at 22:04.00.

Other notable finishes for Wayne State included Robin Bresolin (28th overall), Emilee Rudlaff (32nd overall), and Taylor Hopkins (36th overall). Additional runners representing Wayne State were Meagan Verellen, Anna Gdowski, Aubrey Migoski, Reese Hansen, Sydney Smith, Sarah Greb, and Remi Flanz.

The team's next competition is scheduled for November 8 at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
