Hamtramck City Hall joins government buildings all across the state – and country -- as communities try to fight the wildfire spread of the the new coronavirus and COVID-I9 disease.
The city's website states the closure is until further notice. Michigan's “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order currently runs through April 13, according to CNBC.
A notice posted on the city’s website gave the following information to residents: “We are following the recommendations of the governor and further encouraging residents to take all necessary precautions, including limiting their nonessential visits to City Hall.” The notice is also posted on the doors of City Hall.
The city of Hamtramck urged residents to conduct any necessary business by phone or email. Utility payments can be made online or in the drop box in the City Hall lobby. Other necessary documents, including income tax returns, property transfer affidavits or permit applications can also be dropped in the box for review.
