The Wayne State University women's golf team is preparing for its second event of the 2024-25 season. The Warriors will compete in Ohio Dominican's Champions of Women's Golf Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Champions Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio.
"This is another new event for us and we're excited to be here," said head coach Larry Hamilton. "It's a strong field with a challenging golf course, so it should be a good test for us."
The tournament field includes teams from Ashland, Charleston, Davenport, Gannon, Glenville State, Kentucky Wesleyan, Malone, Northern Michigan, Ohio Dominican, Purdue Northwest, Saginaw Valley State, Thomas More, Tiffin, Walsh, Wayne State, and Wheeling.
Wayne State's starting lineup features Ting-Yu Kuo (Taipei, Taiwan / Taipei Municipal Zhong-zheng Senior) - Fr., Claudia Portillo (Madrid, Spain / IES Ortega y Gassett) - Fr., Orianna Bylsma (Montague) - Jr., Sophia Wygonick (Westland, Mich. / Livonia Franklin (Eastern Michigan)) - R-Sr., and Sabel Imesch (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South) - Jr.
