The Wayne State University men's golf team is leading the competition after 36 holes at the Findlay Spring Invitational, held at Boone's Trace National Golf Club. The Warriors scored a four-under 572 (281-291) on Monday. Both Josh DiCarlo from Amherstburg, Ontario, and Adam Burghardt from New Baltimore, Michigan, contributed significantly by finishing in a tie for third place.
Individual performances among the Warriors were notable. Josh DiCarlo and Adam Burghardt both scored 142 (-2), tying for third. Mat Hawryluk achieved a score of 144 (E), tying for ninth place. Ian Smith followed with a score of 145 (+1), placing him in a tie for thirteenth. Max Leppelmeier scored 146 (+2), tying for eighteenth.
In the team standings, Wayne State leads with a score of 572 (-4). Davenport is in second place with a score of 578 (+2), followed by Findlay with 580 (+4). Missouri S&T stands fourth at 583 (+7), while Ohio Dominican holds fifth position with a score of 585 (+9).
Other teams competing include Tiffin, Indianapolis, Maryville, Northwood, Missouri-St. Louis, McKendree, Hillsdale, Ferris State, Walsh, Saginaw Valley State, Ashland, Thomas More and Cedarville.
The tournament will conclude with an additional round of play on Tuesday starting at 9 a.m.
